Alexey Pamporov is an Associate Professor in the Institute for Study of Societies and Knowledge at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and the Head of research unit at the Open Society Institute – Sofia. He holds PhD degree in Sociolgy (2005) and MA degree in Cultural Studies with specialization in Social and Cultural Anthropology (2001). He specialized Qualitative Methods in Fertility studies in Max Planck Institute for Demographic Reseach (2003-2005) and Advanced Teaching Methods in Central European University (2006). He lectures in Sociology of the family; Electoral sociology;  Romany history and culture and Anthropological demography at Sofia University. His main publications are Romany everyday life in Bulgaria (2006) and Social distances and stereotypes about the minorities in Bulgaria (2009).
